Getting it from Debian isn't policy, so much as no one in Ubuntu interested in
packaging the newer versions. Given that there is an active maintainer in
Debian, it'd probably be most useful to offer to help him if you're
interested.
Once it's in the Ubuntu development release (Jaunty Jackalope
I totally understand that, but from an end-user point of view, the
frontend+engine are both the antivirus.
Anyways, if that's the policy, I'll take that.
