I don't understand the different bug statuses in launchpad. why does a
bug get marked incomplete if I am FULLY willing to do whatever testing
that is needed to get the the thing fixed. Am I suppose to change it's

I tested it with karmic alpha 3 live cd. It suspends fine, but fails to
resume. on resume it just shows a black screen. Note the live cd uses
the open source video drivers, so these conditions might be slightly
different from the above report. I normally am using the nvidia
restricted drivers.
Just want to try to keep this report up to date. Care to test and
confirm this issue remains with the latest development release of Ubuntu
(ie Karmic 9.10). ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . You should be able to test suspend
using a LiveCD if you didn't want to
Ok so I found a way to get it 'working'
steps 1 and 2 are from

I tried to launch the Jaunty 9.04 (Alpha4) Live CD, but it got hung up
at the screen asking if i want to "try..." or "install..." or what ever.
I tried pressing "try" and "the check for defects", but it just each
time it just hung there for a long time and did nothing.
when Jaunty 9.04 is final,
Hi Mike,
Care to test and confirm if this issue remains with the most recent pre-
release of Jaunty 9.04 (currently Alpha4) -
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/ . It contains a newer 2.6.28
based kernel. You should be able to test suspend via a LiveCD. Please
let us know your results.
if it helps there is lsusb and lspci:
