The Desktop Cube plugin does not have any option for the bottom cap. If
you want that you must use Cube Reflection and Deformation as dmh309
said.

I can confirm this on Ubuntu 8.10 with compiz 1:0.7.8-0ubuntu4 with the
Desktop Cube option. The image is only placed on the top cube.
Note the new Cube Reflection and Deformation option does correctly place
images on the top and bottom cube caps.
Also note I had difficulty hiding cube caps
