No fix is needed from Ubuntu. Upstream (Microsoft) already fixed the
issue in Hotmail a while ago and it works with the default Ubuntu
useragent. No need to workaround or use old insecure firefox versions
anymore.

this is not something we are going to fix. please report this as a
hotmail bug. post the complete user agent you see in help -> about to
hotmail and tell them to properly parse "standard compliant" user agent
strings.

It's commonly a useragent issue.
When the useragent information is modified Hotmail works again.
