Before trying your solution, my TV-card worked on the 2.6.27-7-generic kernel,
but not for the next ones.
Now my TV-card is working on the last 2.6.27-13-generic kernel, so it is

Ok, I've given that a go but it won't work. When I try 'sudo modprobe
em28xx' I get the following output:
FATAL: Error inserting em28xx
(/lib/modules/2.6.27-7-generic/empia/em28xx.ko): Unknown symbol in
module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
Which isn't great, and dmesg gives this:
