Why I marked this as a paper cut:
This affects every user who access samba shares. As home networks are becoming
more common, and sharing files through samba is very common on these, this is
affecting many user. Also, many users from Windows are used to access samba
shares using "\\hostname" on
Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. Unfortunately a paper cut
should be a small usability issue that affects many people and is quick and
easy to fix. I'm afraid this bug can't be addressed as part of this project.

If you add a bookmark to an SMB share in Nautilus these bookmarks can be
seen in the Places menu. Until you run the fix for this clicking on
these links generates the same error message. I see this as a much
bigger issue as I've had several customers wonder why this doesn't work.
