Do you see this error now ?
I have the same issue when I upgraded from hardy to intrepid. I have the same
harddrive - its brand new.
I did a clean install of intrepid on a new platform and the errors are there as
well.

I did a complete format/install of the final Ubuntu 8.10. These errors
have disappeared.
