MLG is only used for button mapping in apps. Assigning to LIRC package.
So first things first, try to get it working command line. You might
need to give it a few extra flags that are normally implied, like the
LIRC device.

I just thought I would add in here that I can confirm the same issue in
ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10 with this mce remote tranceiver. Mine is actually
called a mediagate mce remote but is the same one, GP-IR02BK. The Ir
reciever works perfectly out of the box but cannot seem to transmit
anything. I g
