This is not a bug. You don't have file permissions to create a folder in that partition. Either: 1) Mount the drive with correct file permissions or 2) Create a folder as root and give your user rights to that folder like: sudo mkdir myUser sudo chown myUserName myUser sudo chmod 755 myUser **
