I've forwarded the patch, the UDD branch can't be merged as it makes
unecessary modifications to previous changelog entries, and converts a
native package to 3.0 (quilt).

Indeed. When I change whrandom to random in pytris.py it start correctly
(there are warning in console output, but it is playalbe now.
I'm don't know how to make good patch for ubuntu package, but I made one
and it work.

It's not been removed, it's been renamed to "random". Hope that helps.
