Tonight I just update my Ubuntu to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a
Linux mario-laptop 2.6.27-8-generic #1 SMP Thu Nov 6 17:38:14 UTC 2008 x86_64
GNU/Linux
and the beeps still there... so I disable the text view in my startup adding:
ro splash quiet
in the menu.lst and the beeps go out... so..
Yes--unresolved as of this date :( The "BIOS" warning beeps come very
ill-regular--sometimes they drive me mad & every once in a while things
work as they should--I have retreated to "quiet splash"--at least it
works every time--I still miss the text below--was very informative...If
you goto ubunt
Hello and thanks for the welcome! :D
Yes I was read thats bug and put my comment... so? the bug is unresolved

Usplash is not working with "quiet"
Welcome to the "club"--look at my old bug 235662--this problem started
during the very early days of Intrepid development & has not changed. I
believe that there was a change to Usplash to include text during file-
chek that conflicts with a text below graphic boot. I can't pin down
what was change
I just receipt many beeps when the ubuntu start, this appers only in
startup, I set up only 'splash' in menu.lst and I see some flashed,
verticals white and blue lines with background in black, when it
finished the Login screen appears, I use Ubuntu 8.10 up to date.
Any idea???
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:
To get text & usplash you kernel line should contain just "splash"--for
just usplash without text "quiet splash"
