I have the same/similar problem. Possibly related to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-do/+bug/450852 as well.
The symptom is that gnome-do is running but it's running at 200% CPU and
lookups do not work, e.g. if I type "firefox" it stays in raw text mode
and does not launch firefox.
We are closing this bug report because it lacks the information we need
to investigate the problem, as described in the previous comments.
Please reopen it if you can give us the missing information, and don't

I still (occasionally) seem to have the same issue. It only seems to
happen the first time I log in after a reboot. I attached the two
xsession-error logs. HTH.

i have updates since this bug.
nothing noticeably changed on gnome-do (at least apt-cache policy shows
nothing different).
logging in just now with these updates and **i haven't re-experienced
the problem**.
