the same problem.
i have Intel 4965AGN card and asus wl-500w (802.11n draft-n enabled router).
With latest Intrepid kernel modules Wi-Fi speed link is about 30Mbits,
while latest linux-backports-modules from Hardy gave me 80MBits.

This still a problem even in ibex .. the iwlagn driver doesnt seem to
support anything able G speeds or possibly nothing in the 5ghz range. I
get 60mb tops, never more, but mostly it locks at G speed.
