I guess there are many bugs in the version of ndiswrapper dapper has. Try using
the latest version. I bet it works.

I get similar result when inserting RealTek 8187 based USB dongle.
Installing the 64-bit Windows driver for this chipset in ndiswrapper
appears to work OK, and so does installing ndiswrapper with modprobe.
After inserting the dongle, just checking with "sudo ndiswrapper -l"
