Depending how fast the official repo exposes Michaels uploaded libgksu,
you can give it a try grabbing it from my PPA (here:
https://edge.launchpad.net/~macslow/+archive), if you're very impatient.
While I never was able to reproduce the crash on any of my systems, I
found a minor rendering glitch
It happened several times opening both Synaptic and the update manager,
last time compiz effects were disabled but it crashed nonetheless.
