I'm getting this again on Kubuntu 10.04.
Can't extract any protected rar with ark, even though runnind unrar from
the command line works great.

Rar password support implemented in KDE 4.2. The fix has been released
with the KDE 4.2 beta2 packages for Jaunty. (Also through the Intrepid
packages from the kubuntu-experimental ppa)
