I was using the liveCD at the time (I only have a laptop, so I can't risk
installing an alpha =), maybe that makes a difference.
The bug you link to in your post looks much like this one. I think it's
safe to call this one a duplicate.

Intrepid installed on my laptop.

I've had this problem as well when I clicked on the "routes..." button on the
"IPv4 Settings" tab of a wireless connection.
I am also using the live CD of 8.10 A6 AMD64.
This has happened every time I do that (at least so far it has).
