get my cursor working again by putting the laptop to sleep and waking it up
again. I suspect it might have to do with acpi or hal, or even the kernel.
I think this could be a duplicate of 107075 ...

Ok got all upgraded to 8.10 but I'm still experiencing random cursor
freezing.
