I use the proprietary Nvidia driver and I'm having similar problems. Qt4-assistant, qt4-linguist and qt4-designer as well as qtdemo all show the same behaviour: memory use increases non stop and CPU usage goes all the way up. No messages are displayed in the terminal. Using fully updated Intrepi
