The menus get an input grab on the X server, and take all keyboard input. Unfortuantely, on some laptops these various special-function buttons are implemented as returning keyboard scan-codes, which are probably also grabbed by the application presenting the menu. This said, on Jaunty, and using

Hi phenest. No that is not the case with this one. The shortcuts work fine. But when some menu is opened, at that time none works. Like if u open lil menu which increase or decrease volume. Or if u have menu open after clicking on applications or places etc in gnome, it doesn't work. -- Keyboard
