It's been nominated for Hardy but has not been accepted. Waiting for the
fix in 1.40 with Jaunty should be fine; I don't think this would qualify
for a Hardy SRU - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates .

I have the same problem, and i don't run any nvidia driver may be due to
compiz (no screen effect on the system)
