When you download them with the software instead of a browser (Firefox,
Konqueror...), they are downloaded and installed. If they don't appear
in the list, that must be because they are incompatible. If you use the
"Install" button, it ask you for a directory because that button is used
when you do
Doesn't work for me, too. I have received several themes from default website.
But no one of the new themes is shown in the menu to install themes. I am asked
to open a directory. Which directory?
My system is up to date (excluding kopete, which is 3.5-Version)

I've tried again and now there are some themes that works. Since the
themes are made by normal people (I mean not professional most times), I
must be theme's matter. That for answering.
