after available updates, the panels were lost. I had to remove the folder .kde.
At reporting the bug, there came error message:

Just had the SAME issue during an update, and I wasn't even actively
using KDE. My bt was also ?? so it looks like this one won't get
fixed...

Random update crash without valid backtrace, sorry but we can't do
anything about it.
