A bit more information
(1) the bug happens whenever I resume and am unconnected to the dock.
E.g. if I suspend unconnected and resume unconnected, it happens.
(2) The system is not completely unresponsive. Sometimes, if I bash

Yes, exactly the same bug exists with kernel 2.6.26-5. Unfortunately,
the failed resume seems to leave no trace in any logs - the log goes
straight from the hibernate to my next successful restart.

When I try to copy /proc/acpi to /tmp I get "/proc/acpi/event: Device
or resource busy".
I'm away from my dock for the next few days; but I'll attach a bit of
