Yes, it seems this is an issue on openbox itself, removing desktp team
as bug assignee.

This isn't an issue with gnome-terminal. It appears to be an issue in openbox
itself.
FYI - I don't run anything on top of openbox.

Same thing happens with this -> alltray -s -na -i ~/.icons/irssi-
invert.png "xterm -title irssi"
"xterm -title irssi" and "gnome-terminal -t irssi" don't take a title,
they just use the default.
I guess this is an issue with OpenBox then.
