Radeonhd has juste been released in a new version: 1.2.3
Especially because ati makes such a good job it would not be so bad, if
radeonhd would not work :D
But it works, and so many bugs are fixed in this release. But two weeks before
releasing Intrepid is too late, your are right :/

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarification. And -ati uses -radeon actually as I
see it? Hm, would be good if someone could update radeonhd though, but
you might be right, now it seems too late.

bumenot, I agree the -radeonhd driver should have been updated, but now
it is probably too late before the release of Intrepid. And it is not so
important since most cards work fine with the -ati driver.

The latest release of radeonhd (and so the version in ubuntu) is a few
months old, and in current git are a lot bugs fixed and more cards
supported.
I think it is not a bad idea to use a git snapshot in Ubuntu Intrepid,
because there was only bug fixing and a few added PCI IDs for supporting
new c
