Are you talking about the keytouchd-launch or the keytouch.init scripts provided
by the package? Which script do you suggest replaces them?
Thanks,

A few things:
- you drop changelog entries from the old version (2.3.2-2.1ubuntu1)
- you drop the patch 25_XCloseDisplay without any explanation in the changelog
- it looks like you attribute 10_do_not_install_init_scripts to somebody else
and drop the description in it
- you drop -D_GNU_SOURC
When it comes to the software (so I am not talking about this package) I really
advise you to replace version 2.3.2 by 2.4.1. This version also provides proper
support for USB keyboards.
It indeed fixes the logout problem:

This couldn't be in a wishlist, I think. This version has a really
serious bug. Not everyone can know that this is keytouch that causes
their computer not to able to shutdown properly...
Keeping the old version in repo is allowing bugs to be applied into
working Ubuntu system.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess documents the freeze
exception process. I suspect this falls under the "FeatureFreeze for
new upstream versions" category, although I'll admit that I've not
investigated this particular bug sufficiently to be sure.

Do you know who exactly I will need to contact? I'll do everything I
can to push this update. This is a very unacceptable situation, both
the debian bug report and the launchpad report list this bug as
"severity: grave", and "Importance: High", respectively. No work needs
to be done to fix this
Apologies, but the sponsors were unable to get to this request prior to
feature freeze. It appears that this update will require a feature-
freeze exception. If you are sure that this is not the case, please
resubscribe the sponsors queue. If it is the case, please work with the

Could you please check if http://bugs.debian.org/487629 is applicable to

Actually, the wiki page that you linked suggests a debdiff for a patch
and a diff.gz for a new upstream version (which is what this is), so I
believe I uploaded the correct file.

Binary package hint: keytouch
Ok, so this is my first package (so go easy on me). It's for a new
upstream version of keytouch, 2.4.1. With the packaging docs as
scattered as they are, I'm not sure how I did, but here is the diff.gz
for review.

Thanks for your work. In order to get this into Intrepid you should take
a look at this wiki page:
