I have the same problem detailed above. The symptoms occur on those
Wikipedia pages as well as some other pages.

I am facing the same problem. The pages are totally messed up. I am
using Gnome. I have the latest version of FireFox 3.0.1 and the latest
kernel *19 on Ubuntu Hardy Heron. I have compiz installed.
Some pages that do not work properly:

No compiz (but it's possible, the machine has an intel chipset).
I'm attaching dmesg and Xorg.0.log (sorry, should have done than in the first
place)
of 2.6.27-rc2 boot (but 2.6.26 has the problem as well, and it looks exactly
same, I tried).
