I do not think it is (was) a Firefox problem, or anything to do with
addons.
I have not experienced this problem for more than the last two weeks.
I have not changed Firefox, or its add-ons, yet the problem seems to have gone
away.
Maybe there was an update of some of the components of the launc
It sounds like a Firefox bug. Please, can you try to disable all addons
or use a different browser?

This is more noticeable when there are more instances of Firefox running.
But note that typing in the text editor works just fine, so it suggests that it
is not a system problem.
