As OpenSim made big enhancements and is really usuable, it would be
good to have a package of the next release.

Title:
[needs-packaging] OpenSim
The main OpenSim service refactoring was finally completed. Some config
files are currently being moved around, but that should be finished in
the next OpenSim release, which should be more easy to lay out in a FHS-
compliant way. When it's released I'll package it up.

It's a while that I'm not continuing with this packaging so unassinging me.
Anyway the preview packages that I made could be used as a base if ever someone
wants to continue the task. Look at the PPA in the previous comments and feel
free to contact me for help.

Unfortunately, no. OpenSim is still undergoing a large amount of
refactoring, and config file structure still has some more changes
coming. The most recent release
What is the status of the packaging then? Did the config refactoring

I haven't forgotten about this. There's currently some refactoring
taking place in OpenSim which will affect how config files are used, so
I was hoping for that to finalize before packaging. If it doesn't in
the next two weeks, I'll provide a package for 0.6.4, the current
release.

I think that work over the packages that contain the tagged releases should be
a good starting point.
Just tell me if you need help.

Hi. I've been providing binary .deb packages for OpenSim for the past
few months. You can find details at:

(I referred to them as "unofficial" simply in the sense the they weren't

There are some new .deb packages available in opensim's website. I
suppose that contact its creator would be of help.
