Using Hardy's xorg.conf works, I have attached it and marked it as a patch since it contains an entry for the Synaptics Touchpad and allows scrolling to work. However, this still needs to be fixed in the Xorg's auto-detection when you reconfigure X with: sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg -phi
