I am using Lucid Lynx, Thunderbird 3.1.7 and I am affected by this bug
too.
I use IMAP and "Detach" and "Delete" used to work just fine before, and

I'm getting this issue now in Lucid. Didn't happen before I upgraded
from Karmic. I would post a more full sort of report, but I'm really
tired now and kind of busy... so suffice it to say, if it's alright,
that this is still an issue as far as I can tell.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue
for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

reproduce this bug. It sounds like you expect thunderbird to delete
something from your hard drive and this is a feature not a bug. Please
update me on how to do this and exactly what you see and what you
expect.

Almost same thing here, however with Thunderbird 2.0.18 (20081125).
I am running Kubuntu Intrepid 8.10 with Linux 2.6.27-7-generic.
Interestingly, it worked perfectly before the most recent update from
the kubuntu repositories.
First things I noticed: 'detach all' or 'delete all' or 'save all' se
