It corrected itself about 4 days ago, I don't know if
upgrading to Adept 3 fixed the problem but it came good at the same time
I upgraded.

I had the same problem running Kubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Alpha1 32 bit on an
AMD64 PC.
I set the root password, but adept crashed.
In a terminal session, I tried:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo /usr/bin/adept_installer
kapture::PkgSystem::PkgSystem()
Error: "/var/tmp/kdecache-cb" is owned by uid 1000 ins
Spoke too soon :-( just used adept-manager & required root's password

I have the same problem, I have activated my root password (sudo passwd
root) I have to use the root password for adept & Synaptec. I have a
Gnome/Ubuntu setup as well I don't have the problem in Ubuntu only in
Kubuntu KDE4
