I'm having the same problem with my samsung tocco camera phone.
import by f-spot works fine but camera doesn't get mounted.

Hi all, same problem here.
I _think_ this behavior broke as part of the fix to Bug 208467, or maybe
not.

Same here with Nikon Coolpix P50.

Had any luck philinux? I have the same problem, everything was fine with
7.10, now problem introduced by 8.04.
Just to summarise:
USB ok, lsusb gives
Bus 003 Device 006: ID 04a9:3138 Canon, Inc. PowerShot A710 IS
import by f-spot works but no good as destroying date stamps
Camera does not appear
