If you can still reproduce this behaviour with your router, please try
waiting a few minutes to see if nettool comes back.

I tried this by making my resolv.conf point at a non-existant machine
(eg 192.168.1.99 where no such machine is connected to the network).
nettool hung for a minute or so but then came back with an error saying
the address could not be resolved.
