I'm seeing this issue on an ubuntu-server upgrade to intrepid, where
consolekit was installed because it and dbus are now deps to avahi. It's
really annoying, since I don't even *need* consolekit on a server
install.
I also don't have any console-kit-daemon processes running that I can
see... it s

Well, this message went away for sometime, as i was busily pursuing
other problems, mostly lockups that were heat related.
I also managed to have to install a lot of packages that I had missing
md5sums for (unrelated, of course, but what the hey) as well as to try
and get my nvidia back (back, usi

that seems relevant.
There might be two consolekit-daemon processes
running on your machine, does the process list confirm that?
