Unfortunately, that leaves the question of where the bug is. It's
probably one of the array of components that control sound on Linux--
things like gstreamer, xine, pulseaudio, alsa, oss, jack...
I'm afraid I haven't a clue. Your best bet is to examine which programs
do and don't show the same pro
