I can confirm I have a similar bug with Adept 3.0 Beta 7 on Kubuntu Karmic beta.
It crashes after searching any package. The error message is attached in the
printscreen.
I tried to report the bug using ubuntu-bug (or Report a bug from Adept menu)
but that crashes too (that's another bug)

The crash file unfortunately does not reveal the information that we
need since no debug symbols are loaded.
Could you please install the necessary additional package in the
repository, suffixed with -dbg. Always install kdelibs-dbg, because all
KDE applications use kdelibs. Then you should instal
I search something and mark it to install, then I search for another package
before applying the changes, and adept crashes. And sometimes (not usually) it
crashes at the first search.
I didn't have the same problem using synaptic.
I'm on Kubuntu 8.04 64 Bits.
