Hi, Actually whatever keyboard layout I chose I had always the exact same behavior, but I until your post I realized that my "Tastaturmodell" got changed. I just selected the right one and all of the sudden everything is working fine. Please disregard this as a bug and set it to "User stupidity".

No, it's not a problem that goes away if I choose another keyboard layout. I've been using the same keyboard layout since Feisty, and in Feisty it worked properly. Then when I did the upgrade to Gutsy it stopped working and no matter what keyboard layout I choose, the behavior is the same. Then I u

Hi, thanks for your bug report. I'm not sure, I understand the problem correctly. If you set the keyboard layout to "eliminate dead keys", typing ~+n _should_ give you "~n", otherwise "~" would be a dead key... Maybe your problem is solved by chosing the default layout instead of the nodeadkeys
