Adrián, in case you didn't notice, KDE is a 2nd class citizen in the
ubuntu world and didn't get an LTS tag.
Anyway, as ronny descirbed, he started kbabel with sudo, which screws up
stuff, because one is supposed to use kdesudo and not sudo for GUI apps.

An additional info: It reproduceably happens whenever I call "sudo
kbabel". This does not work and subsequential calls of kbabel without
sudo fail with the same error message. I have to log out and log in
again to be able to use kbabel.

But since Ubuntu 8.04 is an LTS release, and Kbabel is part of this
release's repositories, this bug shouldn't b ignored this way.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed in the latest
development version of Ubuntu - the Intrepid Ibex.
Intrepid Ibex includes KDE 4, and KBabel isn't part of this new KDE series.
