There are newer 0.5 packages for Ubuntu 8.04 in the Elisa developers
package archive, please see https://edge.launchpad.net/~elisa-
developers/+archive
Can you please try upgrading to those and see if it fixes your issue?
0.5 will also be available in the upcoming Ubuntu 8.10 release.
