I have requested that this issue be marked as a "wishlist" as it seems
to be the most appropriate for your request. Understanding that custom
emoticons can cause problems (some of them can be quite large in size,
or quite animated) might cause problems in the nickname line in terms of
readability

I know, but theres no emoticons in MSN that have substitues like "lol"
so it doesn't interfere with names.

I believe this behavior is the exact same in Windows MSNIt
basically allows people to put icons in there nickname, how else would
you expect people to add icons to there name?
