This bug seems to have been fixed for USB2. However, when the Rockchip
Media Player is connected to a USB3 port, no device (/dev/sdb) is
created.

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

Hi Gaurish,
It's a little difficult for others to test especially since this seems
to be specific to the hardware you have. One thing to try might be to
test the most recent Intrepid Ibex 8.10 Alpha release -
http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . It is based on the upstream 2.6.26
kernel at the moment
can anyone test it with Upstream?
so we may know this is only with Ubuntu

Yes,
its still a issue for me in hardy.
i also tried removing ehci_hcd module as a possible workaround. but that
too failed.

The patch you linked is already applied in hardy's 2.6.24 kernel. Is
this still an issue for you in hardy?

Hi Gaurish,
Sorry for the delayed response. This looks like it might be a duplicate
of bug 88746. Care to take a look and see if the workaround there
resolves your issue. Thanks.
