Update to kernel 2.6.24-17 kills networking on resume from suspend

I can confirm this on an ASUS s96jm laptop using intel3945 iwlwifi

Kernel 2.6.24-17 - on return from suspend/hibernate wireless networking not
working, upon reboot it is okay. tried /etc/init.d/networking
{start|stop|restart} with no luck. Reboot is the only thing that corrects.

Worked fine with previous kernels up to 2.6.24-16.
