Ugh yes, completely understandable on that one. Just for your
information we're also tracking that bug in another Launchpad bug report
- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/263555 . You'll
probably want to subscribe yourself to that bug report to keep an eye on
it's stat

Are you on the 64 bit kernel or the 32? I'm on the 32, and had issues
with soundcore being omitted, while others in the ALSA thread using the
64 bit kernel had no such issues.
