Same here. With Intrepid I haven't experienced any of the lock-ups I had
under Hardy.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue
for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

I have a very similar problem. Whenever Firefox 3 displays a JavaScript
alert, X locks-up completely. Logging in via SSH and restarting gdm does
not bring it back, I have to reboot. Happens also with Firefox 2,
possibly less often. I tried IE Explorer (using Crossover) and also get
lock-ups with a
Hello.
Could you check if this issue still persists?

Hope this helps.

OpenOffice, when I was opening a .ods and a .odt at the same time.
Unfortunately I forgot to retrieve .xsession-errors and Xorg.0.log this
time round. If it happens again I'll attach them to this bug.

I've tried to reproduce this in other browsers without success. However,
I've also tried to reproduce it in Firefox without success, though I've
seen it happen several times before I reported the bug.
I'll comment again should the problem re-occur. Hopefully, it won't :).

Hi Graham,
Thanks for reporting this. Could you try using another web-browser and
visiting the same link under the same conditions? This would help
eliminate either Firefox or GDM / X / Compiz as possible culprit(s).
Thanks!
