After an apt-get update, my installation worked perfectly this morning.
I was devastated when xmms was gone and audacious would not install.

Thank you for reporting back. Please uninstall all plugins and try
again. audacious-crossfade plugin is known to cause an immediate crash
on startup. Fix is in the pipeline. Until then, let me know if you
still experience crashes if all plugins have been uninstalled.

I second that. Audacious is broken in Ubuntu Hardy x86. I have tried to
reinstall it and it doesn't work. I cannot install xmms too, with apt-
get giving me the following error.
~# apt-get install xmms
