I don't know if this bug is reproduced in new ubuntu versions. I fixed this bug
with the solution they provided me.
If you say that Gnome 2.22 fixed this bug, good news. I hope no one will open
this bug again.
Thanks,
Xan

This has been resolved since GNOME 2.22, as GVFS uses the Desktop Trash
Specification the same as XFCE/Thunar.

It's been a while since there's been any activity on this bug, are you
still running into this issue on the latest version of Ubuntu (Hardy, or
preferably Intrepid)?

Hey,
Another thing related:
the desktop is not the same in gnome and in xfce (see files). In one I have
"bolos" direct access and in the other no. gnome and xfce follow different ways
too in this case?

So, perhaps we should comment it in gnome bugzilla.
In any case, meanwhile, I vote for make an script that do ln -s
automatically when both desktops are present.

You received this bug notification because
At Gnome Nautilus Bugzilla [1] seems to be a bug report about
freedesktop[2], but i'm not sure if they pretend to fix this issue. In
that case, i think the bug should be filed there, or add a comment.

Daniel, thanks a lot for the solution and Lionel, for the explanation.
Lionel, by your comment, perhaps you could assign this bug to gnome team?. A
part of what have the reason (gnome or xfce), at least there is a minimal
formal bug: when user install xfce (or gnome if he/she uses xubuntu) the

Yep, that's true. Lionel, i was writing about it too at the same time :]
A solution for Xan can be: from Xfce, open a terminal... and type:
$ rm .Trash
$ ln -s ~/.local/share/Trash/files .Trash

According to the freedesktop trash-spec
(http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/trash-spec), the correct
location for the Trash is $XDG_DATA_HOME/Trash ($HOME/.locale/share/Trash).
Thus the bug seems to be in GNOME, not Xfce.

First of all, why?
Secondly, so there is a bug: one user should have only _one_ trash and not too,
I think: if you login in gnome, then you have trash full, if you login in xfce,
not crazy thing!
And thirdly, how can I solve it: put that xfce shows .Trash instead the default
option?
Thanks
Hi,
That happens because Gnome(Nautilus) and XFce(Thunar) handles the
'Trash' in different ways.
Gnome: ~/.Trash/
XFce: ~/.local/share/Trash
