The "tv-out" option under Totem's preferences menu is still inactive for me (greyed out), both before and after I install nvtv from Synaptic. This was also true for ubuntu 8.04 and 7.10. I know the Tv-out works on my machine as I use nvidia-settings to create a "Second X Screen" and watch video's

I think a second package would be and excellent idea. Another could be "recommended for installation" or "suggested for installation" or in Synaptic Package manager - of which one could be a readme file. If I knew about compiling with --enable-nvtv I would have done it !.. Thanks for the bug rep
