I had to completely reinstall Intrepid, several problems - especially
missing home partition after reboot - besides that one posted above.
I am afraid can't show you this information anymore. Now, it is working
nicely.
Probably it was something related to my previous intrepid insta

terminal window (after you logged into a metacity session)?

After latest updates on intrepid this problem re-appears.
I lose all my window borders.
I tried this workarounds but nothing seems to work,.

i was getting mad and about to switch to KDE until i logged out of my
current session..clicked options in the corner, logged in with Failsafe
GNOME, an everything was working fine...so i logged out again, an logged
back in with a normal GNOME sessionan everything is fine

I was able to reload the repositories and perform the install. Looks
like its working now :)

Was a temporary upgrade hiccup, should be fine now.

I could not install compiz because of broken dependencies. Is it working

install compiz, compiz-settings-manager from synaptic.
